The New Year is a time for reflection and for inspiration for the year ahead. I’m beginning 2017 by reflecting on a man who inspired me and this company beyond what words can express. I would like to dedicate this post to my father and mentor, Frank Busa, who passed away in December at 85.

A Tribute to My Father

My dad worked in the building industry for over 50 years and designed and built more than 800 homes in MetroWest. We worked on many of them together. I grew up in the business and he taught me everything I know. My dad loved people and loved creating. His work was truly his passion and he used to call his houses his “children”.  He had a passion for designing and creating the best houses possible for his clients and he built each house as though his own family was going to live in it. That was just Frank. His hobby, his passion and his life was building.  And a lot of that rubbed off on me. When I decided to finally go out on my own to build, my father never held me back and always encouraged and motivated me. Today, all the houses I have built, the passion I have for it, the love, and the desire to constantly want to improve came directly from my father.

If you ever had a chance to meet my dad you would have seen a 6’4’ 300LB Gentle Giant with a big smile who never had a bad word to say about anyone and, only wanted to make others happy. This is just one of the many traits that my father installed in me which I am grateful for.  His legacy lives on, not just in the beautiful structures he built, but in the lives he touched and in all that is to come at Sterling Homes.

I’ll miss you Dad, rest easy.
